NeuroLeadership Summit Update

With only 8 weeks to go, there's a lot of energy building for this ground-breaking event. We were thrilled with the response to the full page ad in strategy+business magazine, who are sponsoring the Summit. People are starting to see that this new field is gaining momentum, and at last count over a dozen blogs were talking about the event.
The Summit still has a few places open, though we expect to fill all 50 places in a few weeks. So far we have many senior OD and HR executives, some academics, and some interesting media people coming along, along with external change management and leadership development people working at a wide level. If you want to attend, I encourage you to put in an application as soon as you can.
We've decided to film the Summit with a professional documentary team. This has opened up the idea of filming several important neuroscientists who are important to the field but couldn't make it. Thus we will be including ideas from Matt Lieberman, Stellan Ohlsson and Kevin Ochsner, who I have been visiting and filming lately while in the US on a speaking tour. After the Summit we will put a lot of stuff on line including short videos, so people everywhere can connect with these ideas.
Speaking of connecting with the ideas from the Summit, here are two online audio resources you might enjoy:
- If you haven't had a chance to listen to strategy+business' free webinar with Dr Jefffrey Schwartz and I, I encourage you to check it out. It's outline the ideas in this new field.
- Here's an online audio interview with one of the Summit speakers, John Case, the CEO of Electrolux home products.
Some great new books have been released recently relating to this field. My research partner Dr Jeffrey Schwartz was thrilled to be covered in Time Magazine, in an article on a new book called 'Train your mind, change your brain', by another of Jeff's collaborators, Sharon Begley (who writes for the Wall St Journal.)Daniel Golemans new book 'Social Intelligence' is also worth checking out. And I can't wait to read 'Made to Stick' which is becoming very successful. I am also building a complete list of suggested readings, articles and audio files here.
Enjoy these resources and the new connections they bring!
There will be another update 4 weeks out from the Summit.
